With Summer just around the corner, though, the brand appears to be in fairly good shape and has an array of exciting potential feuds on offer, let's just hope WWE know what they're doing with Jinder Mahal. Tye Dillinger and Shinksuke Nakamura will be making their main roster PPV debuts at WWE Backlash.

Read that sentence, read it again, and picture what would happen if you could go back in time two months and tell yourself that.

Mahal - and his in-ring friends, the Singh Brothers (Gurvinder and Harvinder Sihra) - present a great opportunity for WWE's expansion in India. After all, Nakamura and Ziggler would be giving in their best to get the title under their waist.

"I think Vince really appreciates that and WWE is a place where they reward hard work and I'm an example of that".

These are just the latest comments that allow Mahal to be portrayed as a babyface for fans in his native country, but lead to him receiving heel heat elsewhere.

Growing up, who has been your biggest influences in WWE? The Kevin Owens Show made its debut on "SmackDown" following the Superstar Shake-up, and Owens regained his U.S. Championship from Chris Jericho shortly thereafter.

Styles was set to deliver a Styles Clash on the table, but Owens reversed. AJ's leg got caught, and he was counted out.

Much of the buildup for Backlash was built around the broadcast in-ring debut of Shinsuke Nakamura, almost 50 days after he made his post-WrestleMania move to SmackDown Live. It seems that Shinsuke Nakamura will surely make it to the top this time.

The star power was on the side of Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch, but the victory belonged to the Welcoming Committee of Natalya, Carmella and Tamina. Natalya won by submission by putting the sharpshooter on Becky Lynch.

"I like joking around a bit, but I think when I was training him, I was very serious too - he nearly never cracked a smile". Tyler Breeze continued his "undercover" gimmick that he had shown in the Fashion Files, first dressing as a janitor, and then at one point changing into a grandma outfit midmatch. Sami sidestepped the attack, intercepted Corbin with a boot to the face, then followed up with a Helluva Kick. Helped by his new allies, the Singh Brothers, he won a six-man match to get the title shot. I want to retire, when it's all said and done, as one of the greats.

Dillinger carried out the Tye Breaker and pinned English for the win.

The penultimate match of Backlash saw two former brothers in arms face off, as Erick Rowan looked to finally settle his rivalry with Luke Harper.

Ever since arriving at SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shakeup, Zayn has been locking horns with Corbin in an effort to prove that he belongs as part of the blue brand in WWE.
