The Mac Observer will be on location in San Jose, so be sure to follow along with our news and analysis to stay on top of Apple's WWDC announcements. A Siri device would work beautifully with other Apple products, but it will also champion the cause of more recent services from Apple, such as Apple Music and Apple Pay.
For that you'll have to join The Independent's coverage throughout the event. In a previous report, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted that Apple's new speaker could cost more than the likes of Echo. That's the segment Apple's new Siri speaker will be targeting by default. Indianexpress.com will be keeping a tab on all the announcements from WWDC. The Cupertino company is expected to show off the new operating systems for mobile, TV, watch, and Macs. Chances are, Apple will announce the Siri Speaker in the conference. It has always been rumoured to be working on more ways of making the tablet into a full-scale professional computer - and with the release of new and even more powerful iPads, it makes sense that will be released now. Kuo also predicts that Apple is planning to launch a smart speaker to compete with the Amazon Echo and Google Home. I guess we'll have to wait for Monday in order to find out.
Improvements have also been made to the graphics cards for portable machines, so you could also expect the MacBook Pro to get a graphics bump. Rumors about the Dark Mode have consistently surfaced over the last few years, but Apple is yet to introduce the feature to iOS. Maybe Apple will announce this feature on Monday.
New MacBook Air DesignA new MacBook Air design would incorporate USB C.
It's nearly a certain that Apple will reveal its new iOS 11 operating system ahead of its new iPhone launch later this fall. You can run multiple apps at the same time with this new feature on an iPad. Which might mean there's nothing happening, or might mean that Apple has something so huge it's hidden it completely up its sleeve.
Siri particularly needs to get up to speed as Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) continues to prove consumer interest in voice-activated smart speakers with its line of Echo devices. One thing is certain though.
Based on Apple's track record and the rumors we've been hearing, I expect Apple to show off highlights for its fall operating system releases.
This would be the second time that the MacBook Pro would be refreshed in a span of roughly 200 days. Planned Mac updates will include refreshed versions of the MacBook and MacBook Pro with faster Intel Corp. processors, Bloomberg News reported earlier this month. Unfortunately, Gruber reports that the next-gen Mac Pros "will not ship this year", meaning they likely will not make an appearance at WWDC. But that's probably not ready yet. It would be surprising if the speaker didn't integrate with Apple's own music service, although whether it will also allow Spotify a place (as the Echo does) remains to be seen. The new small iPad Pro is said to feature a larger screen, though this will only slightly impact its vertical size: the new model is said to feature much smaller bezels to compensate for the bigger screen size. Separately, Kuo has predicted new Apple iPads this year.
