Problem: Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and Saint Leo couples who do not wish to travel 25-plus miles to find a decent way to celebrate search for an answer.
Solution: Some of the best restaurants and entertainment spots within 10 miles of Saint Leo are listed below. Problem solved!
Although Saint Leo is a small town, there are many unique date-worthy places close by. It is actually quite miraculous how many different food choices are available in such a small area. Whether you are in the mood for Mexican, barbeque, American, southern, or vegetarian cooking, it can be found around Saint Leo.
The most convenient, (and romantic!) idea is to have a picnic on-campus. Saint Leo is beautiful and in some spots can be breath-taking. The view from the docks or the bowl could be potentially gorgeous at sunset. Take this as an opportunity to surprise a date by putting together picnic food, grabbing a blanket, and watching the sunset.
The next place is also convenient because it can literally be walked to. Although it may not be the most romantic environment, the prices are fairly cheap and the food is delicious. The Abbey Tavern is located almost directly across the street from Saint Leo’s entrance. It is located on 33601 State Road 52 in Saint Leo. The Tavern can be reached at (352) 588-9844.
On Q Smokehouse Grill is located just down the street from Saint Leo and has a comfortable country vibe. When it comes to the barbeque aspect, they have a ton of variety with choices such as sandwiches, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and sides like macaroni and cheese and potato salad. Check out their website at http://onqsmokehousegrill.com/default.aspx. On Q Smokehouse Grill is located at 33030 State Road 52 in Saint Leo.
Pancho’s Villa Mexican Restaurant has been a Saint Leo favorite for a long time. The prices are decent, and the food is wonderful. They even give a ten percent discount to Saint Leo students. The fried ice cream is to die for, and that alone is worth the trip. Pancho’s is located just a few minutes from campus on 32804 Pennsylvania Avenue in San Antonio.
